Covid-19 will continue to have a long-term and profound impact on the operation of museums and cultural institutions in the future – digital solutions are very popular. But what is actually possible? What is realistic and practicable? And what does a solution need to look like to be sustainable? KULDIG by DroidSolutions is addressing these questions in an online symposium on the topic of “Lockdown and beyond – digital concepts and solutions for museums”
Over the past few weeks, cultural life has come to a standstill. Museums and other cultural institutions have been forced to keep their doors closed to visitors. The return to everyday life is currently underway. However, Covid-19 will have a long-term and profound impact on museum and cultural operations.
DroidSolutions, the well-known Leipzig-based team consisting of experts in software and app development, historians, archaeologists, designers and exhibition visitors, would like to bring museums and museum professionals into contact with experts in the field of digital possibilities and solutions. Therefore, the first KULDIG Online Symposium on “Lockdown and beyond – Digital concepts and solutions for museums” will take place on June 8, 2020 from 9:00 am. The event will feature various presentations and discussions throughout the day and is free of charge for participants. Registration at https://www.kuldig.de/online-symposium-2020.html#anchor_register is possible from May 19, 2020.
The expert panel – consisting of service providers from the industry – will first present experiences from recent weeks, best practices and concrete examples and solutions. This will be followed by a discussion round. Urgently needed ideas, approaches, concepts, solutions and much more from all areas of digitization will find their place in the discussion so that museums and service providers can benefit from them.
A detailed program will be available from 18 May.
