In times of increasing digitalization, potential customers are moving more and more in the virtual space. So it’s good for those who have an appealing concept that sets them apart from the competition and ensures that customers do business locally rather than online. A consistent, eye-catching and inviting store design is certainly an important fundamental step here, alongside good quality and knowledgeable, friendly staff.
A store like BETTENRID in Munich, which stands for traditional personal service and advice, must move with the times and the wishes of its customers. Therefore, a contemporary combination of on-site advice and the possibilities offered by increasing digitalization is the right recipe today. Robert Waloßek, Managing Director of BETTENRID, says: “Since 2017, customers have been able to select and reserve their items online and collect them from a BETTENRID store. It is becoming increasingly clear that the combination of both is of great importance today.”
In line with the company’s own high standards of service and product quality, the sales environment was now also to be redesigned and offer the appropriate ambience. umdasch The Store Makers are responsible for the redesign of the sales rooms in the branch in Theatinerstraße. With around 20 branches and 1,400 employees from 25 nations, umdasch is a globally active company and partner for national and international retail projects. The store will be completely renovated between 2018 and 2022 as part of a master concept developed by umdasch in collaboration with BETTENRID. The redesign of the bed department in the basement has already been completed. Here, the concept of an elegant Munich “old building apartment” was pursued. Accordingly, high-quality elements such as stucco, brass, marble and wall paneling were used.
On the floor, a high-quality design floor from PROJECT FLOORS in a herringbone pattern completes and rounds off the concept. This type of installation is originally at home in stately old apartments and brings a lot of natural elegance to the room. However, the fact that this is not real wood, but an authentic wood reproduction, does not detract from the effect. Visually and haptically, the difference is not noticeable, only in terms of resilience and ease of care is the plastic flooring superior. With its warm wood tone, the PW 3055 decor brings style and comfort to the various sales and consultation areas.
