The Rotterdam-based architecture firm MVRDV will be presenting its “Highrise O” project on Thursday, November 18. Office founder Winy Maas will explain the project in a panel discussion led by Baumeister editor-in-chief Fabian Peters.

“Highrise O” is the name of the new high-rise residential building that MVRDV is constructing as part of the Franklin Mannheim urban development project. This will see a large former US army barracks area transformed into a new residential quarter. MVRDV has designed four residential towers in the shape of letters for the urban master plan of the new district. Together, the four towers form the word “HOME”. MVRDV will realize two of them itself. The developer is Saarbrücken-based RVI GmbH. The first of these is the “O”, for which construction is about to begin.
