i-architecture is a transdisciplinary architecture firm based in Bilbao and active throughout Spain and Switzerland. Their innovative and elegant designs reflect a deep connection with local materials and craftsmanship. An outstanding example of this is a kitchen in a house in Mallorca designed by i-architecture. The centerpiece of this kitchen is an impressive kitchen island made of Son Tafona limestone, extracted from the renowned Hijos de Miguel Mascaró quarry. This massive island not only forms a functional focal point, but also adds a unique aesthetic touch to the space, highlighting the natural beauty of the limestone. The design is complemented by a carefully placed stainless steel worktop located behind the limestone island. This combination of materials creates an exciting contrast between the warm, earthy tone of the limestone and the cool, modern look of the stainless steel. The stainless steel worktop not only provides a robust and easy-care surface, but also seamlessly integrates the module for the extractor hood, ensuring a clean and uncluttered appearance.
