In the heart of the lively 11th arrondissement of Paris rises an extraordinary family home that combines tranquillity, light and material aesthetics in a unique way. This luxurious townhouse in Paris, designed by German studio Holzrausch, is more than just a home: it is a retreat that celebrates wood and light as central design elements.

Behind a closed gate and a curved path through the long inner courtyard, an oasis of calm opens up. The house, embedded in a private garden, stands in contrast to the dense, urban surroundings and conveys an atmosphere of tranquillity and clear living.

Reduction as a design principle

The interior design of the townhouse deliberately focuses on a few, high-quality materials: oak, plaster, natural stone and stainless steel in the kitchen characterize the interior. Decorative elements or works of art were deliberately omitted in order to preserve the calm, minimalist atmosphere. Recessed lighting, custom-made built-in furniture and concealed kitchen appliances support the minimalist concept and create a clear, timeless aesthetic

Architecture and light

The renovation of the L-shaped house included the renewal of the façade and the integration of skylights, making light from above the shaping principle. The sculptural staircase runs through all levels and distributes daylight evenly throughout the interior. Its warm oak wood corresponds with the wall panels and furniture, creating a harmonious overall effect.

The architecture and design studio Holzrausch was responsible for the entire planning and coordination of the project, from the structural implementation to the precise lighting design. International craftsmanship was incorporated into the implementation: plasterwork from Italy, solid oak floors from Denmark and custom-made lighting elements, also from Denmark.

Living space on four levels

The townhouse extends over four floors, including a small basement, and offers around 350 square meters of living space. Four bedrooms and four bathrooms ensure spacious retreats for a family. In good weather, the doors open onto the garden, allowing life to flow seamlessly between indoor and outdoor areas.

International craftsmanship

The implementation is based on the seamless combination of interior design, architecture and carpentry. This short distance between planning and production creates a quality that can be felt in every detail. Minimalism, simplicity and timeless elegance characterize the entire house.

A house for the senses

The LOUI PARIS townhouse has received international recognition. Over 80 percent of the existing structure was removed during the renovation to create open, light-flooded rooms. The radical reduction to just a few materials, the subtle lighting and the clear design language, inspired by Japanese Zen principles, define the quality of living.

The central, organically curved staircase is the connecting element of the house and ensures the even distribution of light. The spacious communal areas, including a living room and a kitchen with a long family table, encourage encounters and everyday life, while private retreats offer peace and intimacy.
