Natural stone worktops – treatment in the workshop

Advertorial Article Parallax Article

It is hard to imagine natural stone worktops without impregnation. They reduce the risk of stains and make even highly capillary absorbent natural stone suitable for use in kitchens. In the workshop, fast processing and outstanding stain resistance are key arguments when choosing an impregnation to enable high productivity and rapid transportation.

LITHOFIN has developed two workshop impregnations for this application: Lithofin NanoTOP and Lithofin FVE (high color depth). Both impregnations impress with their short processing times, high effectiveness and fast drying.

Preparation

The surface to be impregnated must be dry and clean. Greasy residues must be removed (e.g. Lithofin LEV). Particles of grinding and sawing sludge must be removed before impregnation (e.g. with Lithofin MN cement residue and rust remover), as residues that have not been removed react with food acids and can simulate a stain sensitivity of the material.

Protective treatment

The edges of the worktop should also be impregnated to prevent stains from penetrating from the sides (do not forget the cut-outs).

To be on the safe side, a 10 cm wide strip should also be treated on the back following the edge. Keyword: evaporating dishwasher.
