Public conference at the Bauhaus Dessau

At the International Budget Summit, internationally renowned activists, scientists and artists from all over the world will meet at the Bauhaus in Dessau this coming weekend from August 7 to 9.

How will we feed the world’s population in the future, how do we negotiate resource issues in the global community and which models of economic activity make sense from a global perspective?
At the end of the “Household Fair” exhibition, which presents artistic, historical and academic positions on the household as part of our way of life in the Masters’ Houses, the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation will host a public debate on the global perspectives of “domestic affairs” at the weekend.

Internationally renowned academics such as Victor Buchli and Katherine Gibson will discuss with representatives from journalism such as Annia Ciezadlo (correspondent in crisis regions worldwide) and architecture such as Pier Vittorio Aureli and art Binna Choi.

The conference is being held under the name “Budget Summit” in cooperation with the Federal Agency for Civic Education. Thomas Krüger, President of the Federal Agency for Civic Education, will be coming to Dessau for the opening on Friday (August 7, 5 p.m., Meisterhäuser-Siedlung). Katherine Gibson from Australia will give the keynote speech.
The program on Saturday and Sunday is divided into thematically focused panels. The guests will discuss the challenges and possible solutions with all participants in an open forum.

All events are free of charge and admission is free of charge. The conference is aimed at anyone who is politically and socially interested and wants to think through and discuss the global connections between our way of life with regard to food, resources and the economy.
