Horst Krause helped shape the company's development
Horst Krause worked for the construction chemicals specialist in Witten for almost 40 years, most recently asSales Manager North. He is retiring at the end of the year – and is handing over responsibility to younger hands “with a good feeling“
An era is coming to an end at Ardex, the construction chemicals specialist from Witten in the southern Ruhr region: Horst Krause (64), previously Northern Sales Manager at the global manufacturer of cements, fillers, tile adhesives and mortars, is retiring after almost forty years with the company and handing over the baton to Matthias Krohn (48).
Krause had been working for Ardex since 1980, initially as a clerk in sales, later as a technical consultant and finally as a sales representative. A time in which the Witten-based company, founded in 1949, also expanded significantly. The family-owned company opened branches in several European countries as well as in the Middle and Far East, launched flooring and parquet adhesives on the market and finally established a new division with PANDOMO surface design systems especially for upmarket architectural projects. Today, Ardex is one of the world market leaders in high-quality specialty building materials, employs 2,700 people and is present in more than 50 countries. However, the success of the independent company has also always been guaranteed by the direct cooperation with its main customers, the specialist trade. The constant dialog with all those who work with the building materials on a daily basis forms the basis for Ardex’s wealth of knowledge of materials and processing methods and is also a central source of inspiration for the development of new product systems. Horst Krause also played a key role in shaping the era of this expertise-based expansion over the last 40 years as Sales Manager North.
“It was a great time at Ardex, especially working with so many different people,” summarized Krause at the official handover to his successor. “Now I am handing over responsibility to younger hands with a good feeling.”
His successor Matthias Krohn has also been an “Ardexian” for more than a decade: he was Area Manager North for the floor/wall/ceiling area for eleven years. Previously, the business administrator worked in specialist wholesale and briefly in the textile industry. He is now looking forward to the new challenge.
