Since 2001, the largest natural stone trade fair, the Xiamen Stone Fair, has been held every year from March 6 to 9 in Xiamen, China. As part of this trade fair, Robert Stadler and the organizers of the fair are once again organizing a specialist excursion to the stone center in Xiamen in 2017.
The trip is particularly interesting for natural stone experts. According to statistics, China is the country that produces over a quarter of the world’s natural stone, with quality, innovation and sustainability playing an increasingly important role. 60% of natural stone production is processed and traded in Xiamen – a city of millions in Fujian Province and the center of China’s natural stone industry.
The specialist excursion will take place from February 28 to March 10, 2017, with the first four nights spent in Xiamen and the next two in Shanghai. The group will then return to Xiamen. In addition to sightseeing tours in Hong Kong, Macao, Xiamen and Shanghai, the participants can expect visits to the quarries and stone factories in Fujian province. The Xiamen Stone Fair will also be visited on at least two days.
The trip can also be extended to include a four-day escorted visit to Beijing and Xian. In the long version, participants travel to Xian and visit the famous Terracotta Army. The Great Wall and the Forbidden City in Beijing will be visited before the return flight to Europe.
