The rock cycle

The cycle of rocks is an eternal, fascinating cycle that lasts for millions of years. Former geology professor Dr. Johannes Schroeder from the Technical University of Berlin has published an informative digital brochure on this topic entitled “Natural stones in the cycle of rocks”, which is available free of charge.

The rock undergoes a wide variety of processes that result in the material constantly changing and constantly being formed anew. “Not only those who are just beginning to study STEIN, but also those who have been studying them for decades will be overwhelmed by the diversity of rocks,” it says at the beginning of the paper.

In his 49-page work, Schroeder begins by describing the cycle of rocks with their formation and transformation as well as the processes and individual processes that take place in the earth’s crust. This is followed by a detailed overview of igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks. In addition to their formation, structure and properties, the part of the cycle in which they are formed is illustrated. The articles are illustrated with various close-ups and informative illustrations that demonstrate the diversity of the rocks. In addition, biogenic limestones and chemically formed carbonates are explained and presented with images of sculptures by various artists.
