Train like in your own living room

One thing is clear: you should feel comfortable at the gym, otherwise you won’t go.Injoy in Rottweil showshow it is possible to design a gym to suit the 50+ generation.

The operator of the Injoy in Rottweil, Georg Breitenreuter, has set himself the goal of improving the quality of life of his customers. His main clientele is 50 years old and upwards. Accordingly, the concept is focused on the needs of this age group. However, the Injoy’s approach is much more holistic. The equipment is only a means to an end, “we focus on people,” says the operator. That is why the studio employs trained specialists such as physiotherapists, sports instructors and exercise specialists.

Spatial design also plays a decisive role and is becoming increasingly important. Not least because it is also a suitable means of standing out from the abundant competition. To make the training environment suitable for the target group, a pleasant living room atmosphere was created with the help of small hanging lamps, side tables and skillfully placed upholstered furniture. And the concept works: Visitors are enthusiastic and also about the flooring. In fact, Mr. Breitenreuter is asked about the flooring remarkably often. Also from an architect friend, who now wants to include this flooring in future projects due to its great visual effect and functional benefits.

The company Raumecht from Rottweil laid approx. 500m2 ofPROJECT FLOORS design flooring in an overnight operation, so to speak. All the renovation work had to be completed within a week. First, three different old subfloors (sprung floor, parquet and old PVC flooring) had to be removed. Preparations were then carried out during the day and the flooring was laid at night “so as not to get in the way of the painter”, says Marcel Kreutter from Raumecht. The PW 1265 decor from the floors@work collection supports the desired homely atmosphere in the studio and harmonizes well with the rest of the furnishings. A special feature that perhaps only a professional would notice: the pattern created by the high-contrast planks was laid despite the expansion joint. The result is an even surface without any visual break.
