The trade fair city of Verona has it all. Trade fairs, stones and a rich gastronomic scene: beautiful restaurants, original trattorias and cool bars. Natural stone takes center stage in many restaurants in the city of stone.
For the “people of stone”, Verona is the city of stones and machines in the exhibition halls and then – of course – the city of the touching love story of Romeo and Juliet. Verona in love, if you like. But that’s not the topic. This is about the evening after the fair and the great fun of going out in Verona. It’s about the food. Verona’s cuisine is varied. Well-known dishes, now famous all over the world, were “invented” here. Gnocchi – for example.
Or polenta! It’s hard to imagine a meal in Italy today without this corn porridge. The people of Verona prepare “their” polenta according to a classic recipe with various sauces; with game or, for vegetarians, with cheese. Or bollito con l’ apearà, another specialty. Slices of cooked meat with spices in a hot sauce of meat broth, cheese and bread. In addition to a special cuisine, these restaurants offer many original details made of natural stone; on the floor, on the wall, on the counter or even on the tables. Buon Appetito!
